How Evolvist Works

Evolvist is a dynamic, geo-based resource to help you live a smarter, more sustainable life. As a user, you feed and fuel Evolvist, keeping it up-to-date, vibrant and useful by finding, adding, reviewing, and compiling environmentally and socially progressive businesses and organizations.

  1. Find
    • Find local resources. Search existing listings using keywords, names, and terms, or browse local listings by categories. You'll get relevant results of all the businesses and organizations fitting your search or browse parameters.
    • Get specific. Drill down into your results by location, or filter further by a set of relevant “eco-labels,” each representative of a biz' s specific sustainable offerings.
    • Geo-locate. Maps will show you right where everything is, so that you can find what's most convenient.
    • Learn more. Click on a listing to learn all about the biz in question, and find out exactly what they do, what products or services they offer, and read what others have to say about them.
    • Share. Send listings to friends and family who you think would want to know about them.
    • Rinse, repeat. Browse or search anew from any results or listing page from the convenient navigation banner up top.
  2. Add
    • Add new listings. Know of a particular biz that hasn't yet been listed? Add it to our ever-developing directory to help others find this worthy enterprise.
    • Give details. You'll be asked some questions about the biz/org in question—some basic, some a bit more in depth. The answers you provide will help others find, locate and learn about the biz.
  3. Review
    • Provide insight. Whether you're adding a new biz/org listing, or are finding one you already know, write a review with your insider expertise—or personal opinion—to give other users the best, most-rounded sense of what they offer.
    • Rate 'em. Informally calculate a general rating (1-5 stars) for any listing, taking into consideration the goods and services offered and their operational practices.
    • Tag 'em. Assign tags as an alternative to the traditional search functions and browse categories. Pick words, phrases and terms that somehow define this biz/org.
